Here's some recent things we've done to improve our sustainability
We reduced waste in the Soapery by turning off-cuts into customer favourite, "All Kinds" soap selection
From working with acclaimed potter, Tom Knowles Jackson on a series of soap dishes, to the sustainable florist Amberley Meadow providing seasonal interest for our shop dresser.
More options for safe deliveries for our local community, including a click and collect direct from the workshop to free deliveries to local residents during lockdown.
We made a series of plastic-free swaps in the workshop and were awarded plastic free champion status from Stroud District Action on Plasticon behalf of Surfers Against Sewage
Source more local natural ingredients to use in our soaps and skincare products to enable more transparency and cut our carbon footprint
Work with a local social enterprise to deliver orders within the community on electric bikes
Start our B-Corp journey by measuring our impact on our workers, community, environment, and customers.
Develop more blogs and resources for our website to provide inspiration and practical tips to lead a more sustainable lifestyle
We make all our products under one roof so we know exactly how they are made and who is making them. Working together makes us more creative and learn different skills from each other. It also means that all our team are paid fairly for the work they do and treated with respect.
We use high-quality, all-natural ingredients from approved and trusted suppliers. We believe this creates a higher quality product with the lowest environmental impact.
All our packaging is designed to maximise the amount of material that can be reused or recycled. All our product wraps are from traceable FSC stock and printed with vegetable inks.
The entire making process is designed to have the low environmental impact possible, so we monitor our use of energy and water, whilst trying to keep our waste to a minimum.
We use a supplier policy to make sure the people we work with meet our standards of quality, delivery, ethics, sustainability, and compliance. Where possible, we like our suppliers to be local and independently owned.
Our biggest initiative is our All Kinds campaign where we donate bags of our off-cut soaps to food banks and community interest groups across the UK.
