Earlier this year, we decided to take the plunge and expand into the space above our existing ground floor workshop. It is a bold move, as it is definitely an uncertain world for small businesses right now, but the timing just felt right.

It also feels like fate; my Mum worked in this exact space, when it was an engineering firm, Newman Hender & Co. There is a fascinating history to the place long before that... Queen Mary even visited the Home Guard outside the building in the Second World War and we have the photo pinned up in our office.

Our new storey at Stag House is a beautiful, light-filled space that gives us room to grow. Upstairs, we will be making our fabric products and running our online shop, while downstairs will continue to be our main soap-making workshop. We are enjoying the lovely Art Deco features, including a sweeping spiral staircase and an array of big windows.

We just wanted to share a bit of 'behind the scenes' insight into Soap Folk's continued evolution. Thanks for all your support! Fiona and the Soap Folk team x
